Default 2006 XKR For Sales - Scam..listed before?

I seem to recall a series of posts a couple of weeks ago having to do with a 2006 XKR listed way too cheaply by someone claiming to in in the military and getting ready to be sent overseas. In this case he's being sent to England.

Sent some pictures of the outside with a description that everything is great yet no interior pictures or powertrain pics. Also says he'll pay to have it shipped FROM WASHINGTON state !!!

Sound familiar??

"Hello and sorry for my late reply.
I still have the 2006 Jaguar XKR for sale and i am ready to let it go for $11.000 The car is in perfect condition, exactly as you see in the pictures. No mechanical problems, no leaks, no rust, everything is in very good order. Title is clean and clear, no accidents. I have to sell this car as fast as I can because in three weeks I will be deployed in Alconbury, United Kingdom and I think I'll stay there for a while, that's why I'm selling it so cheap. Currently I'm in a military base in WA, and the car is here with me. I can ship for free within US if you want to buy it.
I will appreciate if you let me know your decision as soon as possible, i must sell the car before my deployment.
I can send you more pictures if you want and details on how we can do this deal.
Thank you.

Ask the seller if your friend who lives in Washington state can come by and look at the car for you. simple enough. I'm guessing the seller will be unavailable on whatever day you choose, but you never know.

I doubt he'll be staying at Alconbury for long. US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel announced in January the USAF are pulling out of their communications base at RAF Alconbury.

Many many moons ago my brother-in-law, who was in the Air Force at the time, was posted to a base in England. He duly flew over to London got a cab and was taken to the base only to find that it had been closed permanently some months before.!! He hung around London for a couple of days before the AF sent him to a base in Germany for 18 months<G>

That is a well known scam and that ad has been on Craigslist all over the country for at least 2 years now. The pics have likely been purloined from a real ad somewhere. I and many others have complained to Craigslist but they never pull the scam ad down.

Default Scammmmmmmmmm

When you agree to buy the car, they will then tell you to wire the money to so-and-so who is a registered blah-blah-blah and he will hold the money and will not release it until you give the go-ahead and want to purchase the car.... in truth, your money will be long gone and the car will never arrive... guaranteed!!

I HATE frickin' scum bag thieves and liars...

I flag the hell out of stuff like this. I am a frequent Clist person just out there checking out things.

I responded to a similar ad for a 2007 XKR that was in Florida and the seller was being sent to Spain. Same particulars. I really wanted the car too! I knew it very well since it belongs to friend of mine here in Pittsburgh. The hustler should at least have blanked out the license plate!
