2006 xkr supercharger noise - I was in the wrong forum
Yesterday night on I-95 I ran over some debris that cut a front tire on my 2006 XKR. I have replaced a wheel with a donut spare but did not notice that also an oil cooler was damaged. In about 100 miles I lost most of oil. I did not know it before the red emergency warning light blinked in the turn. I stopped immediately. I always carry 2 qts of oil. With those poured in the engine I nursed the car to the nearest gas station. Without any further warning. I had bought a piece of hose and two clamps and bypassed the oil cooler. I drove the car to my friend's place. Today after I started the car I noticed a strange noise from the supercharger. A sort of howling noice with a mechanical undertone. When I raise RPMs the noise goes away. My question is - can I drive the car 700 miles home? Can I do any repair, if necessary, on the road?
Does anybody replaice the C2N1169 cooler with a new one:
Thanks.
