Default 303 top care kit

Gus;

I just purchased the 303 kit to do my top and was wondering if you had any advice for me on applying the Fabric Guard, The instruction are a little on the little to none variety...did you mask off the windows etc.????

Thanks. Chuck S

I used newspapers to mask the windows as well as the body of the car when I have done my XK8 and XJS. The overspray seems difficult to remove and I think it takes less time to mask than to remove the overspray. In addition, I spread old sheets over the hood and trunk (boot) of the car just to reduce overspray problems.
The 303 does provide good protection.

I have my wife drape and hold an old bath towel over the windows, glass, and trim areas where I am spraying the product. She drags the towel around slightly ahead of me. We have been treating her ragtop annually this way for years and it works quite well. No tape or masking needed....

I used an old sheet, raised the top then draped it over the windows/header and lowered the top back down, stuffed old towels around the base of the top at the rear fenders and trunk, newspaper and tape on the rear window then, spray away.
