I went through HELL when changing my belt, because of a stupid and unnecessary design for the 4.2 fan pack. They changed the design on the 4.2, with very bad engineering. 4.2 AC pipe goes straight out of radiator, no way of getting bolt flange around it. This new pipe also makes access to that fan pack bolt/nut EXTREMELY hard. So on 4.2 the upper radiator hose MUST come off. Pain to change belts. I made some needed mods. Cut off the bolt flanges. tossed the bolts/nuts. Did not need to remove the lower setting flanges as those are at different levels and can wiggle out past hoses. Removed lower AC pipe clip and placed onto pipe and twisted it around so it is now a spacer to the pipe next to it and zip tied pipes stable together (sorry didn't get a pic of that part). 4.2 also are missing the fan handle "hook". that attaches to cowl. So, I fashioned a couple "S" shape bits of metal that goes under cowl and snaps into fan pack handle space to hold fan pack tight. Now fan pack can come in and out with ease. So much room for activities!

Hey @RJ237 Thats cool for you! Any special tips? Everyone I spoke with has had a bad time with removing fan pack to access belts, accessories and pulleys.. The 4.0 can wiggle past the AC metal pipe, cuz it goes downwards. But on the 4.2 it goes horizontally, and I couldn't find anyone who had tips on getting past it without removing the top radiator hose, spilling coolant over everything. And those slide in bolts always fall into the abyss, especially on the power steering reservoir side. Maybe they changed something in 05 that I cannot see.
BTW I have a similar Maserati as you.
My car had been in a collision and was repaired before I bought it. It's possible that the radiator was replaced and lines rerouted. I don't have it at home so I can't check.
