My '01 XK8 will soon hit the 50K miles mark, and I would like some general advice as to what I should be checking/adjusting/replacing when it does.

Thanks

Back in town? You don't drive the car enough!

Fuel filter, air filter, coolant, transmission fluid change and all the normal stuff by 60k. Most everything else is fix-it-when-it-breaks.

Ready for a lunch again?

Don't forget that I am out of town for 6 weeks at a time! Due home again on the 13th.

Thanks for the advice, I will get these jobs done. And yes, a lunch date should be on the near horizon.

I would take a close look at the Tstat housing and the coolant reservoir tank, rad hoses for an signs of seepage. WHen I got my 03 I was getting whiffs of rad fluid smells and found the t-stat housing and the reservoir were leaking ever so slowly, leaving fluid residue on seams of the units. Check your rad hoses and other heater hoses for any BULGING.
