Default 5HP24 Durability

We've all seen the numerous 5HP24's that have expired around 100,000 miles and before. I am just kind of curious..

What is the most miles anyone has on an original tranny? Seems like there always are exceptions in the statistical curve.

Mine has 142k original miles.
While there is probably a higher than average failure rate, I suspect that most survive without incident.
Changing oil will help very long term longevity but will have no effect on preventing A-drum failure.

The 5HP24 is a high quality unit that will last as well or better than most. Changing the oil and filter at 60K is a must as far as I'm concerned but other than that, normal driving should generally result in a life of over 150K miles on average. This is just an observation of the forums over the years. Keep in mind that when you see things on the forum, you see the problems. All the ones that are working a long time do not appear here.
I am currently having the oil and filter changed in my 50Kmiles XKR with the 6HP26 just to be sure it's going to last as long as possible. A $5K-$6K rebuild is not my cup of tea. With the advent of the CTSC selling ZF oil and ZF filters for reasonable prices, there is no excuse not to change it. A change runs $400 with labor and this is cheap insurance.

Thanks to everyone so far. I owned an Audi A6 for a while, with, I believe, the 5hp24. The ZF was doing fine when I sold it at 130k. The consensus of the Audi folks was manual shifting will shorten the lifespan. Of course the 2.8 V6 isn't an AJ8. I did the 30k fluid changes.
