6HP26 Oil change.
Since i had the chance to borrow a proper car lift from a good friend, i replaced the gearbox oilfilter and topped it up again recently.. but one thing is not letting go of my mind;
When i filled up the oil again, i filled to spill, then started the engine and tried all gear positions for atleas 5-10 second each and then topped up the gearbox again... -with the engine off.
From what i have learned now, the last top-up should have been with the engine running... Does anyone know how much extra oil you can fill when doing it so... how much oil might be missing?
Would be happy if someone could ease my mind on this issue.

Yes, the engine must be running throughout. As soon as you stop the engine, the level of fluid in the pan starts to increase so you will have underfilled the gearbox, possibly by a litre or more. It's not what you want to hear but my advice would be to top it up again with the engine running.

Pan & Fluid should be between 30 & 35 degrees C. You can use infrared gun to check the pan temp as a guide. If you used Lifeguard Fluid spec'ed for 6HP26, it has the additive to eliminate SQUAK.
