Is there just one serpentine belt tensioner on my 97 Xk8? 10k miles ago the noisy acc belt idler and tensioner pulleys were replaced, idler, tensioner with updated assembly. Sound to me they replaced all of that stuff? I ask cause it is squeaking again.

 

That's all there is...and idler pulley, and tensioner w/ pulley. If its squeaking again, its more than likely the belt this time. (or another pulley on another accessory - altrernator, water pump, power steering pump, etc)

 

It is not a belt. This sounds like the classic bearing sqealing.

 

So as I see/understand, looking at front of motor, on drivers side you have the tensioner, and pass side is just a pulley belt rides on, that is the one squeaking. How hard is that one to take out? Anywhere I can get it other then Jag?

 

that's the idler pulley, I purchased an aftermarket one for $12 I think. I was hoping to just replace the idler and my tenseioner pulley with the same unit...no go.

Here's the replacement part - Dayco 89003, I think I got it from RockAuto.
