as usual, i am soliciting advice for my xk8. after spending about 7500 on timing chains etc. the oil gauge was dropping, when car was fully warmed up. i dont drive many miles, so it doesnt happen much. before i could get it back to the mechanic, upon starting it and driving one mile, the check engine light came on. all gauge readings are normal and engine sounds fine. happened yesterday. significant other has no sense of humor about spending my pension on a fifteen year old car. oh yeah..... what is really weird, (to me), is that when the chains hit the fan, no check engine lights lit up. if i gotta check engine shouldnt it make noise, or something? any way i digress. does any one want to buy a low mileage car, with a whole bunch of new parts. im in the detroit area. 64000 miles. thanx.

 

Wow. $7500 should have gotten you a LOT of "etc."....like a new tranny, too.
