Well my dad had this problem twice. It means your battery recently stopped working, which is just like a temporary thing.
2 times are newish battery just died when we turned the car off, but by opening the lid over the spare tire the battery magically went back on.

But then the windows did what's happening to you, somehow you have to reprogram all that stuff. It is probably in the owners manual. My dad isn't home right now but if you can't figure it out in a few hours then when he tells me I will post it

Try this:

With the top up - raise the window and hold the button until you hear 2 or 3 "clicks".

Then lower the window holding the button until hearing 2 or 3 clicks.

See if the window now drops and again raises with the door opening and closing. If not try the programming again.

If the reprogramming still doesn't correct the problem it is quite likely the battery is getting weak and needs to be recharged or replaced.

Good luck.

Yea i think that's what my dad did. he said he held both window buttons up for 5 seconds then he help them both down for 5 seconds with the ignition in position 1. this is on a 2000 so it may be different.
