Question, the green leaping cat markers on the side fender have a connection inside the fender,there is no bulb in it. Did this light up at one time? And if not,has anyone tried it?

The leaper doesn't light up. It is a badge that is affixed to the fender using a double back tape. It is a solid cast piece.

If I remember correctly, only Europe illuminates those side markers. Here in the U.S. they are merely reflectors....

I've been wondering about this myself. I wouldn't mind lighting up the front fender badges.
I'm going to look for the lenses and I've sent an email to Jagbits to see if they have them.
If I find out where to get them I'll post it here.

In Europe, these are just reflectors. On my XK8 are also installed cables. But the reflectors are blind, it does not fit a bulb. I thought about installing LEDs, but it is banned in Switzerland.

The fitting for the front wing/fender or side indicator repeater is a Ford part. Mine (98) carries the following markings:
LJA4812AA (Jaguar). These seem to retail somewhere between $30 - $60 each
and;
95GG13K309AA (Ford) Google indicates that these are from the Ford Mondeo 96-03 and can be found S/H for around $5 each.
I've read that the US cars only have the wiring in place for these repeaters on one side only, although YMMV
edit: bulb size is 12V 5W capless

Mike,
The Blinker/Repeater from a 2003 XK up will fit! Go to the Jaguar Parts Store there in Las Vegas and buy the Blinker Lens and Bulbs or go to eBay. They used to be in Clear with a Chrome Bulb that Blinks Amber.....If that doesn't work for you, let me know and I will send you the address of my British source.....I think that all XK's that came to the USA are wired for Blinkers...……..
Billy Clyde.

Mike, You'll find that the electrical connection is only installed on the US passenger side. It does not work on the stock badge, but will work if you purchase the clear lenses. You'll have to run wires and a connector for the driver's side.
