Default 97 XK8 Ignition Codes

My XK8 barely runs. Rans codes P0352(Ignition Coil) on B,C,E,H (Primary and Secondary Circuit Malfunction and Code 1368 Ignition Monitor Bank B(grp 2). I pulled the plugs and they were set at 50 thousanths instead of 40. Could these fowled plugs have caused coils to go out? The engine is easy enough to replace things. I'm unsure as to where to start replacing things. The car only has 50k on it. I hate to replace everything and find out it was just one thing that caused the problem. HELP! Any suggestions? Thanx

Check the ignition control modules. On a 97 there are two. One controls the coils for the two inner cylinders on bank one and the two outer cylinders on bank two. The other controls the rest. I one of these control modules fails intermittently, you'll have multiple ignition failures on 4 cylinders at a time.

Default 97 XK8 Ignition Codes

Are these the same part number? If so, can I swap the modules and run the codes to see if it is for sure a bad ingition module? Thanx

Yes, they're identical.

Well, I swapped the modules, cleared the codes, re-ran the codes and came up with the same 1368 Monitor Bank B (group 2) and cylinders B,C,E,H. If it was the module, shouldn't it have came back with cylinders A,D,F,G? If I try to rev the engine at all, it gives me a Wah,Wah,Wah response. Kinda the way I'm feelin about now. I don't know if this will help, but before this happened, I would get a check engine light and a P1227 Mechanical Guard Circuit output low code. I would reset it and it would run fine for quite a while. Anything else I can check? I really do appreciate your input.
