I am appealing to XK8 experts with this question as timing is a factor for a potentially good deal. There is a seller advertising a staggered set of chrome wheels that are 15 years old, taken from a 2002 XK8. Pictures look good but I have no details to know if they would be a straight fit on my 98 XK8 ? Can anyone confirm whether these would be a straight fit without issue? They look good and the price is appealing. I have asked the seller for details or measurements but as they have been in storage for 15 years not sure if I will get much more than a few pictures and the fact that they were on a 2002 XK8. No rubber...just the wheels .Thanks for any help !!

Normally, yes, all XK8 wheels fit, from 97 to 06. The only exception I know of is if you retro-fitted the big Brembo brakes, then only the larger wheels fit.

The big question, to me, is whether you want to deal with chrome. In MY view, they only (slowly) deteriorate over time, and basically cannot easily be repaired. The only way to fix a set is to send them out to a specialist, usually way out of town, for COMPLETE stripping and refinishing. For me in VA, the only place I heard of is California Chrome. Apparently the chemicals to strip chrome and copper as so strong that normal shops can no longer perform these operations. In other words, do your research about chrome wheels before jumping in. If you can get these wheels cheap, they are in pristine condition, and you drive a garage-kept car in nice weather only, go for it. But know that every imperfection is probably there to stay.

On the other hand, there are plenty of folks on this list that have chrome wheels and will probably say these limitations are worth it to them. I was just stating my view after owning a set in so-so condition and looking at all reasonable local options in relation to the wheels' value and finding nothing that worked. Most wheel repair shops I talked to told me to throw the wheels away...
