While I'd like the fancy flip key fob for my '99, research I've done indicates wrong FCC code for the pre '01s. Bought this universal to see if it would work and I get some activity but not full functionality... Has anyone managed to get this working?

IKEYLESS 3000247ES UNIVERSAL CAR REMOTE 1997-2015

After programming the fob itself to be paired with a Jag, I enter programming mode with the key/flasher deal and get the single chirp and security flash. After a few button presses, I'll get a double chirp from the car. Turn off the key and try it out and no dice...

Any experience or tips greatly appreciated!

 

That remote will work with a 2001-up XK8, when they switched to Ford Remotes.

I can't see it working with a '99.

 

You are correct. I contacted the mfg and confirmed the claims to support 97 - 06 XKs on the packaging is incorrect.
