Default ABS Stability Control fault=bulb burned out!

My friend's '99 XK8 pulled a surprise on him. Suddenly, the message center said "ABS Stability Control" fault, or words to that effect.

It turns out that the right rear brake light bulb was burned out. Once replaced, the message went away.

The tech said this model's electrical system relies on voltage drain changes for a variety of fault messages. Such odd messages are quite common, especially on an older car.

Comments?

I highly doubt a burned out tail lamp bulb would give that fault, very unlikely. It'll happen again I bet. Look for dirty sensors, or the harness wiring pulling too much on turns.
