Default accident reset switch? 1997 jaguar XK8

I was following a truck on the highway yesterday when the truck lost a load of wood. I managed to miss most of it but did run over a big 4x6 it went under my 97 XK8 tore up some fiberglass and plastic undercarrage parts and cracked the oil pan. after this happened it wont turn over or do much of anything. the led dash warning panel has a few warnings that have never seen...... "cold outside temperature", "electrical fault", "trans fault", "engine fault", "bulb fail", "suspension fault". as I said it wont even try to turn over, interior lights and accessories all work. Is there an accident reset switch that may take care of some of these issues? if so where should I look for it? Any help or advice in this matter would be appreciated . I have another 97 XK8 that I can use for parts. also if anyone needs Xk8 parts I would be happy to help out. thanks,Mitch

On the drivers side in the fuse compartment when you open the door, there will be a black cylinder looking thing with a button on top. Push that, it's called the inertia switch. Not sure I would try with your damage.

Mitch, it doesn't look like a button on top, it is a square looking piece, sorry I told you wrong, held on by one stud with a nut on it.

from JTIS: The inertia switch, when operated, disables the ignition system and fuel pump, releases any locked doors and switches off unnecessary electrical systems. The inertia switch is located next to the fuse box at the left-hand end of the fascia. To reset the switch after it has been activated, the rubber cap on the top of the switch is pressed down.

That being said I don't see that cause for your unfortunate lights, give it a go though cheap and easy, then you will need to read all the codes and start debugging (with all these folks here to help you).

thank you Wayne and jamdmyers, your info was helpful . reset the button, changed the oilpan, filled with oil and it fired right up with no warning lights on the dash at all. guess I dodged a bullet this time. as I said in the original post I have a 97 XK8 parts car that I will be selling to the local jag wrecking yard soon, if anyone out there needs parts LMK.
