Default Ads covering the bottom of my PC screen

Anyone else having this issue? Ads keep coming up across the bottom of my screen on this forum and they block me at times from doing a reply to a thread.
Google Chrome is what I am using.
Thanks

Install an ad blocker for your browser. Never deal with ads again. I'm using uBlock Origin as my ad blocker. I'm also blocking cooking and tracking notices with Hush, and blocking sign-in banners and other notices and annoyances with Banish.

Default Blocker Ads

On mobile it blocks the page chooser on long threads with many pages, and if you dismiss it, google immediately replaces it with another typical Google ad. I haven't been able to find any way to move down the page to the newest posts.

I started having this issue several weeks ago. Wasted some time trying to block it.

Life is too short for this BS

I don't think there is a paid for option for this forum, so its costs have to be paid for somehow (and maybe even a profit for the owners).

Block the ads if you want to, but ads are a lot less inconvenient than trying to keep your Jaguar going without the forum's resources.

It is irritating, but doesn't block replying to threads - you just need to scroll down a bit more.

It does block mine, Samsung Android.

Default Blocker ads

Hello All,

I agree that someone has to pay for the costs of this service, but I don't think they should be able to block an important tool for using the site with inane SPAM. I'm happy that the annoying ribbon ads between posts are gone; they were a nuisance but they didn't prevent the site from working. These Google partner ads do. They block you from using the "go to page" tool that is necessary if you want to make a post to a very popular thread, like " Wow us with your ... photos", with over 3700 posts. These ads pop up within seconds of opening any thread, blocking only the page turner tool. Why can't they appear below that tool? Yes you can scroll past them to make your addition to the thread, but you have to scroll through 3,715 posts in order to do so, because Google has bought the right to block this tool with spam. If you read the ad, it doesn't go away, but is immediately replaced by another equally inane ad, including as WJ pointed out, one for an ad blocker. The only way around it is to practice your typing, so you can use the page turner in the two seconds or so before the spam blocks it. Once again, I ask, "Why can't the spam appear below the tool instead of blocking it?"

Best, Rick

@bladerunner919 THat is the problem. It wont let me scroll past the ad to hit "post quick reply" I wish that was all I had to do.
Thanks

Default Blocker ads

I just found another thread on this problem, entitled, New persistent advertising banner..... in the General Tech forum. In it Grant Francis said that he was able to get rid of the offending ads by switching to Brave browser. I usually use Firefox Focus, but tried out Brave, and it works on this problem.

Best, Rick
