after shock tower bushing r/replace,
I still have a noise. Not as bad. When I pull away from a stop it sounds like when you turn the cork in a wine bottle.
When I had the bushings replaced on the shock towers, the shocks and coils checked out ok. The mechanic put the rubber insulating pad between the mount and the body structure as described in other posts.
Also replaced were the pressed main structural body bushings behind the whole shock, hub assembly. So I'm really at a loss here.
At the same time, I found out one of the fuel pumps was bad so I had both replaced. I brought it back and the tank and straps are secure.
The car is a 2000 XKR coupe.

That's a tough one to diagnose w/o actually hearing it.
From where does it sound like it is occurring?
Is it only on accel, not decel and a stop? Anything over small bumps?
Both sides, or just one?
Is is more prominently heard with the window down, or does it sound like it comes 'through the dash'?
Can you feel anything through the wheel?

After...Noise
This noise is from the rear almost as if under the back seat. Work was rear shock bushings. It's one side right behind me usually on accel. I might hear it when I come to a stop, or the car's weight shifts at a stop but rarely when I go over bumps.
I've checked the contents of the trunk and all nbut nothing obviously loose. What I have noticed is that my left tailpipe seems much looser than the passenger side.

I did the upper shock bushings on both sides I know there is a larger and a smaller one on the top of the shock, but the only bushing I know of on the bottom is where the bolt goes through. But I'll ask around.
I already did the inner sway bar bushes. The outers I believe are called monostruts, smaller ones, and I have yet to do those because I was told they were still good.

There is probably better technology but I still use a small handheld mini-cassette recorder with a corded microphone. When I have noises I wire tie it in different places and go for short drives, listen, move it, and listen again. I have found countless noises that were coming from parts different than those I initially suspected. You may want to give it a try...just take all the precautions needed while you crawl around and mount the thing...don't wire tie it to the driveshaft! No..I don't have experience with that! : )

great tip
Seriously ... that's a great tip. Having the corded mike right at the noise source allows great isolation. There's one of those old 2gb mp3 solid state recorders still in the blister pack lying around that's going from the "need a gift" box to the tool box.

If you haven't had the rear lower shock bushing replaced, more than likely that is the suspect part. Mine did the same thing, very hard to diagnose. I jacked up the rear of the car and put it on jack stands, then put the jack under the wheel, taking the weight of it off of the shock so it was where it was supposed to be normally in compression...then I 'whacked' the bottom of the shock upwards (fist works ok, but can hurt after a few blows...rubber mallet is preferred), and what do you know, it made the noise!

I would suggest replacing the lower shock bushing (as H20 also pointed out). It's not actually just a bushing, but more like a ball joint with grease inside, you can see it when you hold it up close. Mine was completely toast, and I had the same sound coming from the passenger rear side, and I replaced both of these rear bushings while at it.
I think I have a post about it in the link in my signature.

Uploading zipped wav file
Noise is at 4:20 to 4: 26 at the first light turning right from a dead stop in the time line. Muted because it's on the back seat and because it's a Blackberry, but you still hear a creak.
Skip the rest because I'm just getting into the car or it's highway and it gets cut off at 15 minutes right as I get into traffic in the city. Thats where I really wanted to test it.
