^That looks the best solution to me. If I did have to replace the original liner with one of Gonzo's, I would most likely choose no decal at all.

The plain black suits my taste also.

I purchased one of Gonzo's liners that I have not had a chance to install yet. My original is sagging and is abrading the supercharger coolers. I ordered the multi-colored XKR decal, but it is a bit much for me.

I think if I got one it would be sans the decal. Still debating getting the liner or not...

The XKR & 4.2 Badges on the PBTW's car are starting to show signs of age,,, and I am thinking of just removing them and NOT replacing them,,, I kinda like the Un-Marked look,,, However the "XKR BADGES" Do look Sharp...

Any thoughts on it one way or the other...

I don't doubt that the liner has sound absorbing qualities, but I would wager that one of the primary benefits is to protect the paint finish on the other side of the bonnet from the high heat of the engine compartment.
On a separate note, when I bought my '03 4.2L XK8 last year it had a badly scratched engine cover (I expect it skidded along some abrasive shop floor at some point - I even found the remnants of a birds nest, feathers & all, the first time I removed it). Haven't investigated replacing it - wonder if the thing is very expensive.

Just received my new hood liner yesterday, with the silver leaper decal. But since I'm going to be doing a full respray at some point, I'll wait and install the hood liner after the car is wearing its new paint.
