Default Air Con Wiring MY1999

Hi All,

Just looking for some info about the wiring for the air conditioning trinary switch.

I have a pressure switch assembly with 5 pins (must say at this pont it has come from an XK8 but going onto a DB7).

The electrical connector is completely different from the Aston plug but the switch function is suitable with some small wiring modifications and the various pressure settings are suitable also.

I have a wiring diagram from the XK8 workshop manual but what I dont have is the pin layout for this 5 pin connector.

Could someone upload a photo of the harness showing it plugged into this switch or attached a simple schematic of the connector.

I can see the connector ref on the wiring diagrams is LF57 if this helps.

Thanks in advance and hoping someone can assist.

Dave

Hi Gus,

thanks for the link, I have this manual - this is how I found the wiring diagram.
What I need is to know which of the pins is no 1,2,3,4 and 5 in the connector.

I only have the switch so dont know which pin is which as the switch doesn not identify the termnal designation on the housing.

Cheers
Dave

I have my car on the lift now. I will see if I can get a photo. You want to know the color code and position of the wires to the pressure switch plug correct?

Hi Gus,

Yes please, that would be great

I know the wires according to the manual are as follows:

Black - pin 2
Black - pin 4
Blue/Black - pin 5
White/blue - pin 1
Yellow/white - pin 3

I just need to know which wire goes into which location on the plug.

Thanks again
Dave

In this photo you are looking at the back of the plug the lock clip is on the other side. It is the side that faces the radiator / front of the car.
Yellow/White strip – Black/Pink strip – White/Blue strip

Open – Black/Blue stripe – Red/Green stripe

I hope this helps!

Hi Gus

thats absolutely great. Thanks so much for your help.

Its a pity the subscribers to the Aston Martin forums aren't as helpful.

Thanks again
