I've been having an issue with the airbag warning light on the dash and instrument cluster. . It started about a week ago when my dog jumped onto the passenger seat and the light suddenly came on. It went away the next morning but now it seems to pop on if I even sit my phone on the passenger chair. Any idea what's fudged up??

 

It should flash a two digit code several times before staying on.

Try switching the keynote and watching for a bit to see if the light starts flashing. That code will point you in the right direction.

 

Passenger side SRS automatically disables that side when the seat 'scale' for all intensive purposes, measures below a certain weight. It also disables the system for the passenger, if the ultrasonic sensors detect the passenger is too close to the dash.

sometimes the 'scale' part of the seat acts up, and that may be your issue. I can put a couple books and other small items on the seat w/o any problem, but as soon as my laptop case containing my laptop (probably 10 lbs roughly) the light illuminates to inform me it has been automatically disabled. i have never tried to determine, nor have i read in the literature what that magic number should be. I'm sure its there somewhere, if you read up on the manual.
