The alarm sounder in my car is an 'intelligent' one which has failed. I've replaced the batteries and also a couple of capacitors that were corroded but it's still dead.
I've noticed that a Vauxhall sounder looks to be identical, no doubt it would be too much to ask that one would work as a direct replacement but it's got me wondering if anyone has found any alternatives that work?
JLR classic are offering a passive sounder new and several breakers are offering them at similar prices too, but can a passive directly replace the intelligent one?
