Default All 8 cyl..happy days!

Been running on 7 cyl the past week, not a happy experience. Went to Autozone and got a code for cyl 6 misfire. Bought a new coil from them $107.00 and away we go. Boy these cars are sweet when they run right. Only thing is, I had a service at the local garage for the same problem 3,000 mi and a year ago and they somehow fixed it; the coil I took off looked as old as the others. Can't find my invoice though, maybe I was wrong about which cylinder it was. Anyway, thought I'd share a happy.

Seems like the cylinders next to the oil filler pops up alot as a misfire location...my mom's car did the same thing, found oil around the filler and it mustve gotten past the coil cover, made its way down into the spark plug well near it and caused a short. Your mechanic probably cleaned up the coil, the boot and the spark plug and its well, then gave it back to you. If you get it in time, the coil can usually be saved before permanent damage to it occurs. I blame sloppy oil change places for that...all it takes is a paper towel around the filler and wipe it up when you're done.
