Alpine Sound System
The Apine sound system fitted to my 2002 XKR has gone silent. The controls work and the display display shows changed stations and wavebands, and all other functions appear to work, with the one exception that it is not possible to access the CD changer.
And there is no sound, not on the radio, or satnav.
This happened last year, and then, after a couple of weeks, the sound came on again, and worked normally until last week. Now it has happened again. I have checked all the fuses without finding any problems.
Anyone got any ideas?

Michael Campbell-Smith

It sounds like a problem with the premium sound power amp.
Have you checked fuse #18 in the boot?....This is for the power amp.
If the fuse is OK, check the power amp (over the CD changer). Re-seat the connectors and make sure no water is dripping on it. If all else fails, you usually can find used ones on eBay.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. This is the place to post tech questions about your model.
