Default Alpine Stereo

I s there two remotes for the stereo system in the 2006 XKR. The first looks like the typical remote about 5 inches by 2 inches. The second looks like a small cell phone or GPS, attached in the tray under the radio controls. It is attached by a bracket and can be mounted on the bracket or slipped off and used remotely. Forgot to ask or takes pictures at the dealer. Is this a standard item or something that someone has installed it.

Thanks

Definitely sounds like something aftermarket to me... never hear of any XKs coming with a remote for the stereo. Hard to know for sure without pictures what they are. Could be an aftermarket Bluetooth unit, or maybe a satellite radio receiver.

That is an Alpine EX-10 Bluetooth/iPod unit, which would be an aftermarket addition to the car.

Read about it here: Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
