Default An alternative to 96 to 2001 Fog Lights

I did this a while back..... I fitted 2006 X150 XK fog lights to an earlier X100, the benefit of this is the availability and cheapness of a more generic light, these type of units are used by many manufacturers including Peugeot, Vauxhall and Citroen and of course Jaguar on the XK, XJ and X types.

Also there are various styles, as fitted here a set with LEDs not necessarily to my taste but the customer was very happy.

All you need to make up is a couple of simple aluminium brackets, works well, wiring is no problem you can easily get the correct plug from a breaker or use a couple of small spade connectors

As always, you have come up with a creative solution to an expensive problem.

Have to agree on the LED though, it doesn't quite go with the character of the X100, IMHO.

HELLA also makes a line of headlight modules in sizes suitable for replacement foglights in 50mm, 60mm, 90mm and 120mm lens sizes.

I wouldn't have thought that LEDS would have anything like the same lumen output of the original fogs...the replacements are more like DTRL's.

As to aesthetics I think it's very colour dependant, for example they may look poor on carnival red but would I think look good on black/silver/antigua.

XKRacer are those really X150 standard fitment, if not what did you actually use?

The actual lights shown are not standard fitment, but the housing is on the X150.They are used on so many cars they are produced by the aftermarket companies including LED as shown, normally they have a straight forward bulb

Have you ever installed LED DRLs in the ends of the chrome strake?

Its someting I would like to try, once I find a spare strake to "practice" on.

I could just hang them uder the strake but I like the look of them on the earlier XF.

regards

Is that knob at the bottom for vertical adjustment?

What diameter or part number can we use to find these?
