Default Alternative to crappy breather pipes

Hi
I have air leaks from both a brand new full load breather (the seal at the intake end) and a hole in my part load breather.

I've seen people mentioning that they replace these with better hoses. What do you use?

I'm assuming you use a hose that goes over the outside of the fitting on the engine, rather than inside as the current tubes do.

I'm looking at silicon hoses and wonder what kind of temperature range they need to be able take (in particular the part load breather which lies down in a rather hot area).

Also, if anyone happens to have the ID of hose to use for either breather, it would help a great deal (although that is pure laziness on my part!)

Thanks in advance,

Hi Mike. I just replaced mine yesterday- it was falling apart at both ends. I ended up replacing it with another for $25. Not worth my time to try and fab up something that would likely turn out to be lesser quality for less money than that. In and out in under 5 min.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the response.
I've just replaced the full load breather with a brand new one and it still leaks!

The o-ring on the inlet side just isn't tight enough. I think something that sits on the outside of the attachment points that can be clamped would work better.

I've seen some people using 3/4" heater hose for the full load breather, and something similar for the part load would be ideal.

I'll probably just take the hose off and measure the attachment point diameter, but was hoping someone would know the dimensions so I can order now and replace the hose in one step.

Cheers!

I replaced the full load with heater hose, since mine turned to dust when I touched it.

I'm still looking to replace the part load hose (also destroyed when I touched it)... but I can't seem to get to the tee connection under the throttle body to be able to remove it. Not sure how this is usually done.
