Default Alternator Repair Advice Needed

The alternator on my '05 XKR is about to give up the ghost. I'm considering the following options (estimated cost in parentheses):
  1. Rebuild existing alternator (probably <$200)
  2. Replace with Bosch AL9433X ($177, excluding core charge)
  3. Replace with rebuilt genuine Jaguar from SNG Barratt (about $600)
I'm aware that the genuine Jaguar alternator is manufactured by Denso in Japan. A search of the Denso catalog, however, failed to turn up any currently available alternators that fit my car. The genuine Jaguar alternator produces 140A; the Bosch unit produces 150A and is supposed to fit my car.

Advice?

I had mine rebuilt with a shop that used genuine denso parts. It’s been working flawlessly since last year. I would go with that route.

A kit of parts is quite cheap on ebay ..about $35 in the UK . its quite easy to change the voltage regulator diodes slip rings and brushes if you have a big 65w + soldering Iron. The increased output is not relevant as that is the current for supplying accessories . All alternators will charge your battery at below 20A whatever the max output. Stick with whats cheapest.
New alternators from Denso Japan are about $150 here.

I also had mine refurbished with a genuine Denso kit back in July 2018 for about $120 at a well-respected alternator / starter repair shop. It has been performing perfectly ever since....

Similar to others, about local rebuild on alternator. Also check the belt tensioner for bearing wear also. Alternator has 2 bearings, brush set and a regulator. Stator and rotor hardly ever go out.

While well aware that staying with a Denso part was the better path, in a moment of just-get-it-done, I went with a cheap, new, unbranded alternator from eBay for about $80. Sometimes you need the car to just run. Made sure I picked the right model with the higher output. Part came in looking just fine (new or cosmetically near it), a great fit and has been working ever since. This is after trying to source the part locally and coming up empty.
