Default Annoying rattle from header

On my convert there is a slight rattle I hear at times coming from inside the header above the rear view mirror. It sort of comes and goes but when it is there I can stop it by pushing up a bit on the plastic console piece with the lights/garage door opener or by pushing against the surrounding header trim piece that is covered with fabric. This seems like something that can be solved with a bit of velcro tape or similar but how involved is it to remove things so that I can access this area. Does the plastic console piece pop off easily without damage?

Thanks,

Doug

Check out my mirror replacement thread. The overhead console simply pulls straight down, held in place by four (4) metal spring tangs. Everything up there is easily accessed. Even the header trim on the topside comes off pretty easily if you know about the 'hidden screws" underneath the weatherstripping located at each end of the trim finisher.

You may have loose convertible top strikers. Open your top, and snug them up. One in the middle, and two others....one on each end....all phillips head screws.

Thanks guys. I think the place to start is removing the plastic console piece and I just wanted to make sure there was nothing too breakable in removing this. From experience, touching anything plastic in modern cars after a few years often results in something breaking.
