Another @#$*% don't do this thread: re plastic clam shell drivers seat belt protector
Ive seen several discussions about the best way to reglue the clam shell color coordinated plastic protectors that cover the female seatbelt buckle.
lesson just learned: YOU NEED TO USE THEM. I had been using mine without them reattached. Figured you'd need a magnifying glass to note their absence. All worked just fine without them.
last night, 2 yrs and 25,000 miles later I put on a coat I hadn't worn. In a long time. This is one of those light coats that has a rope around the bottom, guess you could tighten it to prevent wind or something from blowing in.
of course the dangling rope worked itself between the outer side of the seat belt buckle and the console. Guess what: that side of the buckle has important components exposed.
The dangling rope hooked on, I got up, snap crackle pop - ruined. It won't clip on to the seat belt now.
I may be able to get one from one of our gracious members, fingers crossed - he will let me know.
just wanted to let you know about this landmine (feels like a good word for it right now).
gosh I hate to post these lesson learned type messages, only hope it helps someone else.
