The tech that is doing the install, Bill, is quite sick with a flu. I am also really sick. It is going around our town... almost everyone that I know is sick. After you read this post, make sure to wash your hands to reduce the risk of catching the flu. Hah!

Bill will be back soon, hopefully tomorrow to continue working on the final stages of the supercharger installation. He will also be making several brackets to secure parts rigidly into place, rather than using cable ties, etc.

You can just use the 4.2 fuel line part that fits on the fuel rail, although I don't know if its cheaper to mod something.

 

For the fuel fitting you need something like this:

There is an 11 and a 14mm, and while I'm pretty sure the Jag is the larger one, don't quote me on it as I haven't measured it.

Should be available at Autozone or Oreilly as well.

The tech, Bill, is back in action at Falconworks and more progress has been made. All that is left is to hook up the throttle body electronics and mount a few more custom brackets to hold things in place. The XKR *might* be ready to start on Monday afternoon. We'll see!

In this photo, you can see the awesome fuel fitting that Falconworks used. I love that blue color and a few more connectors match in that color. You can also see the driver's side coil pack cover in place. The hammered grey aluminum color is cool!

I have already put some inquires out to a friend that works in the automotive industry, and may be able to buy it through him. Does anyone have any input about this particular unit? My assumption is that I will NOT need to reprogram the transmission's computer. It seems that it will be a fairly easy install, aside from the OEM differential removal.

 

Jeff are you planning any mods to the exhaust system?

 

I currently have no rear mufflers and used the Mina rear muffler delete kit. The sound is perfect. The welded pipe supports that came with the Mina kit were HORRIBLE, breaking twice within a 2 week period, so I had my techs make custom heavy duty pipe support brackets. My factory catalytic converters, surprisingly, are in great shape and do not appear clogged at all with no 'sandy' sound when rotated.

I like the Nameless cats, but don't want the system to get too loud.

 

First off AWESOME PROJECT! Thank you for sharing it all so in depth.

I have the Quaife LSD in my 08 XKR that I got through at a VW indy shop (they had the best price.) Didn't have to reprogram the TCM and I've had it in for 2 years with no issues. Just replace the diff bearing and its plug and play.

I just filmed a before after vid that I'll post in the 07+ forum some time this week so you can see the difference in handling (or less technically, at doing donuts). I'd say the LSD offers a lot more whip and under steer correction over the stock open diff.

 

You may want to look into deleting the mufflers under the back seat as they are more restrictive than the rear boxes. Then reinstall the rear boxes. I was surprised how much more exhaust flow I had when doing this. You must be going crazy waiting to drive your car.

Jga, thanks for exhaust advice. I've already ditched the rears. Who knows, maybe someday, I'll go full custom with the exhaust starting with the Nameless cats on back. You're correct about the waiting... it feels like an eternity! It's like being a donkey with a danged sugar-coated carrot dangling from a stick over my head, making me walk forward. AaAAAAAAaaaaaaaAAAAAAAH! I am actually driving my other vehicle very carefully to avoid an accident. I keep telling myself that I need to survive until I at least go for a ride in the Twin Screw Jag.

 

Jeff what size upper pulley are you going to use?

 

JgaXkr, I don't remember the size. It is the same outer diameter as the one that AVos had originally sent to me with the Stage II kit. He had based his pulley size decision upon the fact that I went with the 4.2 engine instead of the 4.0. I can post the pulley specs tomorrow after I get them from Alan at Falconworks.

What size pulley are you running and what is the psi?

 

I am using the 2.75 pulley & see app 21 psi of boost. I also have a 4.2 but with 4.0 cylinder heads which lowers my compression a bit. I use the 4.0 front cover & lower pulley as well.

 

What kind power does she have? And how do you cool the inter cooler?

 

I have a Killer Chiller so cooling the charge is not a problem. I am not sure of power but is should be close to 600 @ the crank.
