I was at my favorite filling station yesterday doing the tire pressure ritual (with my BBS wheels certain stations have better air nozzles than others) and a guy with a newish Mercedes E-class 2-door kept looking at my XKR. Finally he came over to say what a great looking car it was and how he hadn't seen one of those in a long time. I thought that was odd as there are a fair amount of XK8/XKR in the area and even more of the newer generation XK. He went on to say how he was impressed that I managed to keep it in such good shape. I thanked him and said I try to take good care of the car and waved as I drove out.

It then dawned on me that he may have thought he was looking at an E-type.
