a grand or two for the car and 15-20k for a engine, trans, kit and some pro help. The trouble is there are so many things that can go wrong, I would not put that kind of money into an xk8 unless I knew it was all in good shape.

Holy Moly! $2500? Depending on how bad is bad that could be a nice cruiser for someone with know how. For cheap, it looks pretty good. However, I got all I can handle. TM
