Just saw an exact match to my XKR go by and realized how super dorky the antenna sticking up looked. Adding that antenna kill switch outlined here on the boards just moved up to the top of my list....

 

Easy mod and well worth it. I can probably count on one hand the number of times my antenna has been up in the last two years.

 

I listen to talk radio almost all the time, so there's no point in bypassing the motor.

 

After considering this for a while, I decided to embrace the Jaguar way. We should all stand tall and proud and say to the world, "MY ANTENNA IS SO #@$^&%#$ LONG I CAN GET SIGNALS FROM ALIEN WORLDS. SIZE MATTERS!"

Boo-ya!

 

Personally, I just disconnected the power plug to the motor, radio still works fine within the city and it takes literally just a few seconds to unplug.

 

+1, in fact I don't think I've ever raised the antenna since I did the mod 10 months ago.

Well that is my view on the available stations in France

 

I've raised the antenna on mine twice. Just to listen to hockey. Having the switch installed is nice.

 

My antenna hasn't been up since I installed the flexible antenna behind the rear seat. FM comes in as good as it did with the alien beacon. AM is pretty weak, though. I'm thinking about moving it to the area by the rear bumper to see if that helps with AM. I listen to talk radio mostly, too, fortunately the local talk station is FM.

 

You can say that again. French music is dire at the best of times anyway.
