I am redoing the A-pillars and header.

Wondering if the car will complain if I drive it while the electronics are disconnected in those areas.

If it won't be happy then I will need to plan my work accordingly. Would prefer to take my time with the work though.

Anybody have experience with this situation?

 

Sure, it will complain, particularly to itself about the passenger airbags, but no matter, unless you have a passenger expecting airbags.

I have left the electronics in the header out for weeks while mirrors are being repaired/parts being procured, but rarely passengers, no crashes. I don't know the logic behind firing the airbag without all the sensors, but I suspect it doesn't happen.

 

I was hoping that would be the case. I don't mind if the passenger airbags are disabled for a few days. Nobody will be in that seat anyway.

Had engine on and running, listening to music, as I removed the overhead roof console, as I didn't want to run the battery down. When I had the unit off, I had no issues apart from the rude alarm burp when I turned the car off and locked the car via fob.
