Passenger Airbag
Not having access to JTIS, what is the procedue for installing a simple on/off switch for the passenger airbag?
Many newer vehicles have weight requirements before the airbag deploys or even a switch, sometimes both. With some smaller friends and my daughter (who will force the passenger to sit as far forward as possible), I would like this option.

What year is your car? Mine has a couple of sensors that detect the position of the occupant in the passenger seat. There is a light on the dash to the right of the climate control system that indicates when the air bag is turned off.
I looked in the JTIS, and the 98s did not have the 'smart' SRS sensors. You may be SOL on that option, unless you accept all responsibility and liability that goes along with it. Its a very complex system to 'fiddle' with.
After looking at the fuse listings I thought of something. Would it be just as simple as removing fuse number 12 from the passenger's side fascia fusebox (airbag control module) or alternatively fuse number 4 on the driver's side fascia?
