Default Anybody bought Nameless cats lately?

Just wondering if the long lead-times and escalating prices are still part of the process (as reported in some earlier posts).

Default Yep

They tend to do them in runs, wait until they have a few orders than make them. I got lucky and was close to a scheduled run but others have had to wait.

Yeah I think thats all about keeping the costs down as far as is possible, rather than do one here, one there etc....

Maybe we could put together a small scale group buy.

I have been on the fence about a set, but would be willing to throw in if it would speed up, everyone's delivery time.

They take appx. 4 weeks and they don't "waste" time on emails or extra phone calls. You will get an order confirmation and next time you hear from them will likely be when they ship.
Cats are very nice, same with the workmanship and I don't believe they have escalating prices, a smoking deal if you don't need them right now.

I would consider these only if a group buy would bring the price down to something really appealing. $900 plus install for something not likely to produce a noticeable performance increase is more than I want to spend but if these were in the $700 range I might go for it.

I dropped Nameless a note to enquire about a group buy and lead times. We will see what they say.

They responded (on Tuesday actually, so not too slow) that multiple orders would speed up the process as they could do them all in one batch. The unsaid part is that the number of orders also increases overall priority, but that's just business.

So, it all comes down to how many are willing.

Thus far we have 3, which isn't too many but might help a little.

Any other takers?

I may have to back out .... thinking about buying a 1974 Panther J72 and the wife would take the XK8, which she want to remain "Jaguar quiet".

Interest sort of dissipated and there never was a group buy.

Default Nameless Cats => quick shipping for me

I'm happy with the pair of 400 cell cats from Nameless I bought about 3 months ago for $800. They were delivered within 2 weeks. The installation effort was not bad. With the mina exhaust the sound is deep and aggressive with a little raspy-ness during W.O.T.. Idle is a deep rumble. I did get a fault code for O2 under performance once after going to WOT and then immediately into hard braking.

Hmmm, sounds promising. Even though my wife will be driving it more, I find the mausileum-like silence just maddening. The only time I hear the engine is between idle and about 1400 rpm.
Did you get flanged cats .... a direct bolt-in? Of course I make it sound easy. Nothing is easy under that hood, but with proper tools and patience anything is possible in my experience.

Default nameless cats

I got the 200 cell cats on my SV8, they did not have them and made them after my original cats, it took a while, but fit and workmanship is A-1.
I have appx. 5k miles and no CEL. a little louder and a little faster than before.
