Hi all,

A long time since I last posted as my 96 XK8 (in launch antigua blue) has been off the road since they changed the MOT laws last year so that I have to have cats fitted.

Now mine has been LPG converted since 2005, and as such its emissions are far lower as is tested as an LPG car. Although the catalysts serve no purpose in my case I have to fit a pair to get them through MOT.

With two small children (11 & 12) I don't really have the £300 spare, so thought I'd post asking if anyone has a spare sent they can lend for a week or so.

Am happy to pay for collection and delivery back...but if anyone has an old (non cracked) cats it would be fantastic. In fact they don't even have to be operational!

They'll just be going on for the MOT and the bypass pipes will be going back on once it's passed.

Am in Somerset and would equally be happy to collect within a 100 mile radius.

Graham, just hoping an owner has an old set in their garage.

It does seem silly that I have to fit for no gain to the environment, since my car burns cleaner than a 2015 1.2 nissan micra.

There's probs a wanted/for sale section but this is so specific am grateful you'll allow it to stay

 

Mark. Not sure where you are in Somerset, but Milbur Salvage in Newton Abbot are breaking an XK8 and might be prepared to "lend" you the cats for a couple of weeks for a small fee ! I have used them in the past (not for my XK8) and they were very helpful to deal with.
