First, I would like to say that I am in love with my XK8. However, I am an audiophile so the factory audio must go. I have searched this site and google but I just cannot find very much information about the audio. Maybe you guys can help.

Could you please direct me to sites that sell the dash/install kit for a DIN head unit.

What size are all the speakers?

What audio upgrades have you done to your cars? Pictures? Details? Anything will help.

I have replaced the Jaguar audio with an Alpine IVA-W505 HU, Alpine PDX-4.100 amp and Morel Elate 3-way speaker system. This was a total replacement of everything. You can see how it looks by viewing my pic gallery at:

Both installs look great. However, I am going to be installing everything myself. I wish I could get more information on how to before I dive in.

 

I feel your pain, the audio in these cars (if you are serious about it) is lacking quite a bit.

No DIN head kit available, that must be custom made.

Speakers in the front are 6.5inch woofers in the doors, like 2.25" mids in the dash, and the small 0.75" supertweets or so in the A-pillars. I replaced these fronts with 6.5" components, putting the 1" tweets in the dash...it sounds better there configured this way than in the doors, trust me, i've had them in both places.

The rear, i'm not sure in the coupes. I had 6" subs in my side panels, but the coupe may be totally different, up in the deck perhaps. You should be able to do components back there also, then put a sub in the trunk for bass. The verts are sealed too good to benefit from the sub in the trunk idea, but you should be able to pull off a single 10" or 12" pretty nicely.
