Default Is this aux port standard and how does one use it ?

Hi all, recently purchased a xk8, there’s an aux port that’s been put into the centre console and wasn’t sure if it’s standard or how it would work, if anybody has one or any idea how to get it going that would be greatly appreciated !

That is not standard. The P.O. modified the system. Try putting the stereo in CD while having that aux connected to your phone and playing music from your phone. That's how most stereo modifications work on these cars. I think that red button might allow you to switch between audio from the aux and from the CD player.

It is probably connected to the cassette tape input; so with the phone connected and playing music, press the red button once or twice and listen. If nothing, try pressing the CD TAPE button on the radio console....the red button could be for something else....IDK...
