Default Back on the road! Kudos to motorcarman

Thanks to motorcarman's fine work, my XKR is no longer leaking coolant under the supercharger, and the supercharger got a flush as well! It's great to be back behind the wheel and not worrying about burning up the engine. After discovering the significant leak late last summer, I immediately parked it but snuck it around the neighborhood a few times while trying to find time to tackle the project myself (gave up obviously). Mainly, it was tedious making the drive to Bob's shop last week, but I knew it was a slow drip and got there fine after topping up the reservoir before I left. "Smells like coolant!" he said as soon as I opened the door.

It wasn't even long after the top hoses burst last summer that these hoses did too, so it's been the better part of a year since I've really enjoyed the car, especially top-down. But I got a good bit of that on the drive home last night from Bob's. It was a warm evening and great way to start looking forward to more warmer weather with the car.

I'm getting the wheels refinished, a new set of tires, and a couple other parts this week, so maybe I'll snap some pics next weekend.

Good to hear it Chris. It will be nice to see another cat roaming the North Dallas area. Very rainy today, but next week starts to get much better.

And +1 on motorcarman. He has done some work for me and is always ready to lend advice. Highly recommended. Just wish he didn't live so far out there.

If you notice....the location field in both Motorcarman's and my own profile is "Decatur" so you Dallas lot can have the Opera, and the Philharmonic and the Arts and all....we're content to keep Motorcarman up here!

Yeah I caught the location. I really enjoyed going 'out to the country' as it were. And so did my wife, so it's no biggie. Ideally, we'd be somewhere out there on a few to several acres as well! We've about had it with the city. I recently realized I belong in the country. The Arts District is great for a drive away in the XKR on a date night. One day.

Yep, Continental DWS. Same 245/45-18 in the front, but going 275/40-18 out back to get rid of the 'tuck' and look brawnier. Actually doesn't change the sidewall geometry much with the wider tire (stock rear 255/45-18).
