Default Barrett Jackson Watch.

This week is the Scottsdale Auction and some cars of interest to us.
'97 XK8,'99 Xk8, and '01 XK8.
Lot #'s 17, 347 and 1700's
There are a couple of XJS's.
Always interesting to see what the really detailed cars go for.

Well this one certainly went for a strong price a couple of years ago. 1999 JAGUAR XK8 CONVERTIBLE

Seems like the sold prices are all pretty strong actually.

In my humble opinion it seems the nicest cars are on Hemmings, average to poor on eBay and the worst seem to end up on Craig's list. For the Jags anyway.

Default Rainy Days and Wet Carpet

So it has been raining here on the sunny coast of California and I have had to leave my 2001 XKR convertible out side a couple of times and it seemed to be holding out the water water. However, yesterday I got in it and a got a wif of the dreaded mold smell. I checked under the floor mates and found the carpet on the passenger side is wet. The driver side is dry. Does any have a thought as to where the water might be coming in? Thanks for the help.

The 2001 XK8 went for $9570 and a 2000 XKR went for $15250, it was really nice looking. There are others in the line up and I will try and up date.
A XJS went for $5550 and some other interesting cars. I wish I had a bidders card as a 1986 (I think) Porsche 928 went for under $6000
Of course it would have ultimately cost me have of my worth in the divorce.

A 2000 XKR went for $ 15,620 with a bad Car Fax. 1994 4.0 L6 XJS lot 14 for $ 7,920. Up coming 97 KX8 drop top lot # 347 and lot # 1700 99 w/ 79k
I guess the XKR was nice. vehicles listed an accident with another vehicle. A cannot see how any conversation between two XK8's can be minor... Rich

I chalk it up to rich people not thinking twice about paying rich prices for puffed-up cars. Wonder if I could manage to convince one of these Mr. Moneybags types to pay me a hefty sum for my S-Type. Hmmm....

I think something that may happen at the auctions is that the buyers have seen many not very special cars go for $30k to $50k and then when they see a gorgeous XK Jag for less than $20k they think it is a bargain (which really it is if it is rust free imho).

I remember being astounded when my neighbor bought a beautiful used 2000 XK8 for $21,000 in 2008. Not knowing any better back then I would have assumed it to be a $40,000+ car.
