Been awhile, now my turn for no start.
03, she has been behaving well but for a time to time ever so slight hesitation when starting since I bought it 3 years ago. Turn the key all the way to start it, the car has always here and there had a slight half second delay if that, where it does not start then will. Have kept mental note of it for when it got worse. Now 3 years on today I go out for lunch, I turn the key all the way, NOTHING. All the correct lights come up in cluster but motor does not turn over, no click nothing. I am like CRAP. So I turn the key off and on (leaving in ignition) and nothing for about 30 seconds or so of doing this. I then take out key from ignition, listen for CLICK of the little door, it is there. Then I jiggle the shifter, hit the brake pedal a few times then turn the key and she fires right up with NO delay. All the lights/check system lights etc came on during this "event".
My tail lights are working, all seems well, just the 3 years of a VERY SLIGHT delay in starting at times here and there, assumed it was normal for my car, today is the fist major one for a good 30 to 45 seconds before some fiddling as said above then it started.

Does anyone else have/notice a so slight delay in starting when you turn the key at times? I will turn it all the way and get a slight nothing/dead spot if your will then it cranks/fires fine. I have never had this with any other car. As I said i thought maybe it was just the way my car is, until today's events.

Once every 5 or 7 starts I get dead, no start when key turned to start. But it always starts when I do it again immediately. I always tied this behavior to a slightly lower battery.
Hook to charger= all ok.
I replaced alternator last week thought it would go away. Had it happen today. Not much help but fyi.

Been fighting with this same issue half the summer. One day I grabbed the other set of keys instead and I haven't had the problem since (knock on wood). Exciter ring getting weak maybe? Would love to just defeat that whole system as I think it will be the source of many future problems on these vehicles. Anyone have an idea about the format of the digital encoded signals between the key transponder module and the BCM?
