Default Best supplier of parts..?

Hi

I am going to do my chains, tensioners, drivebelt system, waterpump on my XK8 ´98...where do you recommend to buy parts...from DCR, British Parts or others...price is of course important, but quality of parts even more.

Best

Frank

SNG Barratt is my default vendor. Competitive price and more importantly the right part.

Nothing worse then half way through a job you realize you have the wrong gasket or tiny part and the nearest part supplier or dealer is in another country.

SNG hasn't failed me yet, I ordered something today.

. . . and remember to mention JaguarForums for your member discount . . . they are a valued sponsor. Other options for other countries, but the big www means your shopfront is now worldwide.

Cheers,

Ken

JagBits is also a Jaguar Forums sponsor.

FWIW, I have found Welsh Enterprise a reliable and competitive supplier as well. Their web site does not list a lot of stuff, but you can get just about anything still available from Jaguar through them. I believe them to be a wholesaler with Jaguar, and they pass along a good fraction of that discount to customers. Separately, they have a recycling operation for used parts as well.

For more vanilla parts (sensors, seals, etc), I have found eBay to be more than competitive at times, sometimes even for genuine Jaguar parts.

I think all the sponsors here have been great. I've worked with Terry's a few times, also, Jag Bits, and Jaguar Reno. All been good. I choose by who has the part in stock, so I've had to use a few.

I'll echo dsd. I typically go with who can get it to me fastest for the most reasonable price, which means it will vary.

I hear a lot of members order from Merriam Jaguar, though I have yet to.

Last place I ordered from was Jaguar Reno. I was a bit confused at first because it used to be Gaudin Jaguar in Las Vegas, but apparently Jag Reno bought LV out...so the site is the same, but my part shipped from LV. The time before that was my local Jag dealer for an overnight part.
