Default Black boot plinth swap from chrome plinth.

I'm swapping out my chrome 02 boot plinth for a painted black one. I assumed the license plate lenses would work but guess what! Too big.
I can't find the any where!!
I'm also using the boot button under the older plinth. Works great!!
Anyone done the reverse swap and have the old lenses I could buy?
And anyone interested in a chrome plinth with a killer growler dummy button in place of the electric button? Would install in minutes Nd no need for wiring!! Looks totally factory!

I'm interested in it. Do I need to drill any holes on my 2000? I could live with the dummy switch, heck, I'm already living without a switch. xD

I have the stock lenses for my model year. I don't know if they are what you are looking for. Are the lenses on the chrome one bigger?

My chrome plinth comes with the lenses. And the holes line up perfectly. If you were using a working button then you need he's drilled and hard to wire.
The older style plinth without the button and no lettering should have the same size lenses on all that style but maybe someone knows for sure. I ordered a set that were supposed to fit but they were the newer size!

I've got the no button no lettering body color plinth. I think the chrome one is a step up. I noticed today that one of my lenses gave out.

:/ Now I've got half a license plate lit up at night.

Was it the bulb? The wiring harness isn't part of the plinth, they swap out. Hard as heck to detach! BT the bulb is easy! And advance has led replacement bulbs too. Great upgrade to any plinth!

Yeah, it's the bulb.

And this is why I lost the chrome plinth for the older style.

The older plinth gives the rear a smoother look, definitely an improvement with the black. Still making up my mind about the leaper and logo.

Well, I took off the chrome one for the photo. There's actually not one on it in the pic. Can you imagine if I had left it on and there were two jaguar logo's in the back!! Is never hear the end of it.
Actually, I didn't like the black plastic 98 one I had so I took to body shop and he painted it but it fish eyed so I'll pick it up Monday!
I put the chrome back on to drive at night in the mean time!!

It looks good without the plinth. Almost like it has no business being there.

I like the look with the F type detail. Making me rethink my plan to put a chrome plinth on.

Wonder what the logo and lettering will look like on meterorite.. ummm

Probably more subtle. But a great way to update the car. But I'd remove the lower jaguar lettering above the bumper. I also changed my xk8 lettering for the new XK.
