Noticed on e-bay that a guy sells wheel well trim (stainless) for the XK8. Mines a 2000, and I don't want to over do it... Anybody put them on their car and have a photo? Opinions please...

This trim?

Bling/nix bling-chrome-2.jpg

It says two things about a vehicle.

1. it has rusted wheel arch lips
OR
2. it soon will have rusted wheel arch lips

Best avoided i.m.h.o.

Agree with the rust statement
If ya want rust that seems to be a good way to get it
Everyone has there own tastes and a chrome accent who knows...
Seems kinda 70's to me
With photoshop you can put them on your car
I like cars stock
Although I may jack mine up in the back and paint a happy face on the axle
kinda dates me now doesn't it (haha)

Lots of things you can do Bob to make your xk8 a little more 'custom' w/o going cheesy.

1. You can get a little flashier chrome exhaust tips.
2. You can add an XKR-type spoiler in the same color as your car (did this myself as a matter of fact)
3. I think you can also get chrome mirror covers ... if you're into that sorta thing.
4. You can add a little chrome trim to your tail lights
5. Another set of jaguar wheels makes a HUGE difference as well in how the car looks in profile. Of course, it could be the most costly too.

I'm working on a new badge for my 02 XK8. Playing with grille options and possibly putting the badge on the mesh grille.
This is the large Adamesh badge plinth with the new growler badge. The chrome ring and face pop out of the black background so I painted the background red to match wheel centers and side leapers. Looks amazing! Fr now, I installed it in the original badge location. Actually looks great ther but its curved to match the convex grille so slight gaps on sides. May try to sand down a bit.

Interesing. I've been thinking along those lines. Remove the original badge (fill and repaint) and move the badge to the grill. If you can't have an 07 or newer it's a good substitute.

I have seen chrome strip head light surrounds advertised from time to time. Never saw any pictures. Wonder how they look? I'm just saying------.

The headlight surrounds are marginally ok but the tail light chrome surrounds actually look great especially on pre jewel tail light cars.
