Red face Blue connector within over head map light housing

Hidden within the over head map light housing (exiting the head liner) is a small thin "blue male electrical connector" by itself and no female connector within the map light housing nor under the head liner, what is the purpose of this blue connector. It's not affiliated with rain sensor or rear view mirror? It simply has nowhere to go or connect too...

Most likely it's for the integrated phone system microphone:

Wink Integrated phone microphone?

Thanks for your reply. Your photograph shows the microphone part (circled yellow), I'm assuming? While my vehicle does not have that part. What model and year is your vehicle that has that microphone part?

Best Regards,

ER

Hi,
The pic. is one I found on t'interweb so not sure of model/year. My car is a 98 coupe. RHD, so the mic. is on the other side.

Yes, the original owner shelled out stupid money for the integrated Motorola 'brick'. Still works, too, for the time being

Best,
Mike
