Default Boston Acquistics

is anyone familiar with the wiring of these systems?

Is there a reading i should check to make sure my amp is functioning? I have an 2006 XKR Victory Edition and the Alpine Sound system. Were the Boston Crossovers in the door standard??

As far as I know the whole system as it left the factory was Alpine. Maybe if you describe what problem you are having people can give you some ideas, but I would start by making sure all the fuses for the audio system are intact.

Well i took the door apart because some of the clips were busted. Inside the door was a TweeterWoofer Crossover (PRO60SE) manufacturted by Boston Acquistics. It was doubled taped to the door. Anyways i picked it up and it was like spagetti, sounded like rice. I'm sure the thing is NOT working. So now I purchased duplicate Cross Overs that I found on Ebay. I'm wondering how I can check to make sure that these will make a difference in the sound? Will I be able to hear the radio with the top down going 70mph?

It's Boston Acoustics.

Anyway, a previous owner added those crossovers. The stock system sends mid-range and high-range freqs to the doors, the tweeter is wired in parallel with the mid, and the tweeter has a capacitor soldered to it, presumably as a filter. The doors have no separate crossovers.

No idea. Perhaps the PO was trying to retrofit a different stereo system but retain the stock speakers. Which is a fool's errand if retaining the stock amp. They are of no benefit if you're going to retain the stock system. The crossover duties are handled at the amp.

I think the speakers in the doors are also the Boston Acquistic.

In that case, the PO replaced the stock ones. The stock ones are Jaguar branded and are cheap paper cones. I have no idea how, but my car's PO fried ALL the door speakers, woofers and tweeters.

I upgraded mine to some 2-way Infiniti Kappas, but it was a waste. None of the high freq signal gets to the door mount speakers. Frankly, little midrange gets there either. They're almost like mini-subwoofers, for lack of a better term. Just about all of the mid-range stuff, by design, goes through the dash mounted speakers.

So, if you're keeping it stock, any decent 6.5 inch speaker will do.
