Default BPA/BCM? Blue tooth solved

After spending $200US and waiting 7 days, my local independent 'European Car Specialist(MB, Porsche, Jag)' finally informed me that my numerous issues('Cruise Control inop/Check rear lights/brake switch changed, no correction'), no Blue Tooth, driver's air bag light, + a couple of other problems, was the result of a bad BPA, and would have to be sourced/programmed at the Jag dealer($$$$'s). Glad I spent the money?? I think he meant BCM(Body Control Module) but not really sure. He claims to have found upward of 40 codes set that could not be cleared. I think he was really looking for a 'Plug and Play' fix, and did not want to waste his time on work??
After many attempts with no luck, I had decided to give up on getting Blue Tooth working. I had installed a 7" Garmin GPS unit in the left(driver's ) corner of my windshield, as I have previously replaced the outdated Jag Nav unit with 3 gauge(RealGauge) setup. Digging through the various options, I found Blue Tooth capability on the Garmin! After a quick pairing, it works great, nearby speaker/mic, and still have GPS capability. I also was advised while entering a parking lot nearby one way street, "You are going the wrong way on a 1 way street. Turn around Now!!". I hate it when the machine is smarter than the operator. Wish I could get these units into all the local Snowbirds cars. Most seem to only drive when they are here enjoying our Fla. winters(and one way streets).
Maybe I should buy Garmin stock.
