brakes
just came back from shops and a noise from the brakes started (grinding)looked at dash and the engine light was on, with dsc warning,info please and is it safe to drive.......thankyou (urgent)
Grinding brakes could be as simple as gravel trapped between the disc and the back plate but is more likely to be a pad down to the metal.
Check the pads and calipers a.s.a.p. Apart from the risk of uneven or lost brakes, if a pad is right down, you'll destroy the disc in no time.

DSC = Dynamic Stability Control
This controls the Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS), Traction Control (TRAC) and Yaw Control of the vehicle.
There are three associated messages can be displayed in the Message Centre:
1. DSC SYSTEM FAULT
An amber warning message indicating a fault. It is safe to drive the vehicle but DSC may not activate under wheelspin or slide conditions.
2. DSC
An amber warning indicating DSC is operating (this is normal)
3. DSC SYSTEM ON (or OFF)
Indicates DSC has been turned On (or Off) using the dashboard switch. Displays for a maximum of four seconds

You have a bad brake job. I would get right back there and get it sorted. The chances are good that the link lead for the ABS has been damaged or disconnected as well as the wrong disk pads put back.
